🧸 Show and Tell – Developing Questioning Skills 🌟

Today we had a lovely Show and Tell session, with a particular focus on developing the children’s questioning skills.
During the activity, the children not only shared their items but also practised how to ask thoughtful and meaningful questions. They showed great ability in forming genuine questions, taking turns respectfully, and listening carefully to each other’s responses.
We discussed the importance of asking questions to help us learn more, show interest, and understand others’ ideas. The children were encouraged to think about what they wanted to know and to ask questions that would give them more information, rather than simple yes/no answers.
This session supported the development of several key skills:
- Oral language and communication
- Questioning and higher-order thinking
- Active listening and attention
- Turn-taking and respect for others
- Confidence when speaking in front of a group
The atmosphere in the classroom was calm, respectful, and very engaging. It was wonderful to see the children showing such curiosity, confidence, and consideration for one another.
A beautiful example of learning through speaking, listening, and thinking together. 👏
