๐ฌ Science Week โ Walking Water Experiment ๐
During Science Week, the children took part in a variety of exciting investigations and experiments.
One of the children’s favourite experiments was the “Walking Water” experiment. Using cups of water dyed with primary colours (red, yellow, and blue) and folded paper towels, the children observed how the coloured water slowly travelled along the paper and into the empty cups.
Through this experiment, the children explored how water can move through materials by absorption and observed how primary colours mix to create secondary colours:
-
Red + Yellow = Orange
-
Yellow + Blue = Green
-
Blue + Red = Purple
The children made predictions, carefully observed the changes, and discussed what they noticed as the colours mixed.
This activity encouraged scientific curiosity, teamwork, patience, and observation skills, while helping the children explore both science and colour mixing in a fun and engaging way. ๐๐งช
