🧲 Science – Exploring Magnets

The children explored the concept of magnets and magnetism through a hands-on investigation. We discussed what magnets are and learned that magnets can attract certain materials, particularly metal objects.
The children tested different classroom objects to see which materials are magnetic and which are not. They discovered that magnets can pull some metal objects, such as paper clips, towards them, while other materials, such as plastic or wood, are not magnetic.
The children also practised important science vocabulary, including push and pull forces, attraction, and repulsion, as they observed how magnets interact with different materials and with each other.
Through this investigation, the children practised:
-
Predicting and testing ideas
-
Observing and comparing materials
-
Developing early scientific thinking and inquiry skills
-
Using topic-specific vocabulary
The activity encouraged the children to ask questions, make discoveries, and learn through experimentation while exploring how magnets work. 🧲
