🎃 Pumpkin Volcano Experiment! 🌋

The children took part in an exciting hands-on Science activity by creating a pumpkin volcano. First, the class worked together to carve the pumpkin, carefully scooping out the seeds and pulp to prepare it for the experiment.
We then combined baking soda, food colouring, and vinegar, creating a bubbly and fizzy chemical reaction. The children watched with great excitement as the colourful foam bubbled up and overflowed from the pumpkin.
Throughout the activity, the children made predictions, observations, and used scientific vocabulary while discussing what might happen during the reaction. The experiment helped them explore ideas such as cause and effect and simple chemical reactions.
This activity also encouraged teamwork, turn-taking, and cooperation, while providing a fun and memorable way to engage with Science during the Halloween season.
