The children created self-portraits as part of our learning about Mé Féin (“Myself”) in Gaeilge. Through this activity, the children explored their own identity and individuality, thinking about their features, expressions, and what makes them unique.
The lesson encouraged the children to talk about themselves in simple Irish, helping to develop oral language skills and confidence while sharing ideas with their classmates.
This activity linked Visual Arts, SPHE, and Gaeilge, supporting self-expression, creativity, and positive self-awareness, while giving the children an opportunity to celebrate their personal strengths and individuality.
