π¨ Easter Art β Colour Blending and Pattern π£π

The children created a vibrant collection of Easter-themed artwork, combining creativity with key visual arts skills.
As part of this activity, the children explored colour blending techniques, carefully mixing and layering colours to create soft sunset and rainbow-style backgrounds. They developed an understanding of how colours change and merge, producing a range of warm and cool tones.
The children also practised using patterns and repetition, adding decorative elements and details to enhance their designs. These included shapes, lines, and repeated motifs, helping to build an awareness of design and composition.
They then combined their blended backgrounds with Easter-themed elements, such as chicks, bunnies, eggs, and imaginative spring scenes, bringing their ideas to life through drawing, collage, and creative design.
This activity supported the development of:
- Colour mixing and blending skills
- Understanding of pattern and visual design
- Creativity and imaginative expression
- Fine motor skills and control
- Confidence in artistic exploration
Each artwork is unique, reflecting the children’s individual ideas and creativity. The finished display has brought a wonderful sense of colour, celebration, and seasonal joy to our classroom environment. π£πΈπ¨
