✏️ Creative Writing & Imagination – Our Class Pets

After learning about characters in stories, two children used their imagination to create class pets — a lizard and a cat. The children thought carefully about what their characters might look like and used descriptive adjectives to talk about their pets’ appearance and personality.
They later continued the activity through creative play, taking care of their class pets by making paper bowls for water and other small items the pets might need.
This activity supported:
-
Imagination and creativity
-
Character creation and descriptive language
-
Storytelling and role play
-
Problem-solving and caring for others
It was lovely to see the children extend their learning through play, bringing their characters to life and thinking about how to look after their new class pets. 🐱🦎
