🌳 Autumn Art and Science! 🍂

The children created beautiful autumn trees through a combination of art and science activities. First, they used watered-down brown paint and straws to blow the paint across the page, forming the tree trunks and branches. This allowed the children to explore how air pressure can move paint in different directions.

They then used tin foil stamping with autumn colours to create the leaves, experimenting with colour mixing to represent the changing colours of the season.

During the lesson, we also discussed why trees lose their leaves in autumn, how leaf colours change as the seasons shift, and why some trees, known as evergreens, remain green all year round.

This activity linked Visual Arts and Science, encouraging creativity, observation, and curiosity about seasonal changes in nature. 🍁🎨
